We don't do that. Every custom vow ceremony starts with a conversation about how you met, what you love about each other, and what marriage means to you. Then we write a script that sounds like it came from your own mouths. No filler. No generic love quotes. Just your story, told the way you'd tell it.

How We Build Your Ceremony
First, we talk. Phone call, video chat, coffee - whatever works. We ask questions about your relationship, your sense of humour, what makes you cringe, what makes you cry. We're not writing a ceremony for 'a couple.' We're writing it for you two specifically.
Then we draft a script. You review it. You tell us what lands and what doesn't. We revise until it feels right. Some couples want three drafts. Some nail it on the first pass. We don't charge extra for revisions because getting it right matters more than getting it done fast.
On the day, we deliver the ceremony exactly as written. No surprises. No ad-libs unless you've asked for them. And if you're also looking for something shorter, our Elopement Ceremonies follow the same custom approach but condensed into 10-15 minutes.
What Makes a Ceremony 'Custom'
Custom doesn't mean long. It means intentional. We've written 8-minute ceremonies and 25-minute ceremonies. Length depends on what you want to say. Some couples write their own vows and just need us to frame them. Others want us to write everything, vows included.
We can weave in readings, music cues, cultural traditions, or inside jokes. We can skip the 'repeat after me' vows entirely if that's not your style. We can include your dog. (Seriously, we've done it.) The point is, nothing's off the table unless you want it off the table.

Most couples book us 6-12 months ahead, but we've pulled together custom scripts in as little as three weeks when timelines get tight. The sooner we start, the more time we have to get every word right. But we won't turn you away just because your date's close.
What You'll Actually Pay
Custom vow ceremonies start at $500. That includes the consultation, unlimited script revisions, the ceremony itself, and all legal paperwork. If you want a rehearsal, that's an extra $150. If your venue's more than an hour from Angus, we add a travel fee.
We don't upsell you on packages or try to bundle in services you don't need. You're paying for the ceremony. That's it. And if you're not sure whether you want custom or something simpler, our Non Religious Ceremonies offer a middle ground - less scripting work, still personal, lower price point.

Frequently asked questions
Can we write our own vows and still have a custom ceremony?
Absolutely. Lots of couples write their own vows and just need us to write the opening, transitions, and closing. We'll frame your vows so the whole ceremony flows. You can also write part of it and have us fill in the rest. It's your call.
How many revisions do we get on the script?
As many as you need. We don't cap revisions. Most couples are happy after one or two rounds, but if it takes five drafts to get it right, we'll do five drafts. We're not done until you're confident in every line.
What if we want something funny but not cheesy?
That's our favourite kind of ceremony to write. Funny's hard to pull off without tipping into cringe. We'll ask about your sense of humour, test a few lines with you, and make sure nothing lands flat. If a joke doesn't work in the draft, we cut it. Simple as that.
